Itinerary ideas

1. DAY: Wild Corner of the Bay - Cala Blava & Delta

We leave Palma enjoying the panoramic view of the Cathedral of Palma, before heading southeast towards Cala Blava, a hidden gem with crystal clear waters and little influx of boats. Then, we continue to the area of Sa Punta de s’Àguila, within the natural area of Es Delta, where we enjoy shallow waters and unique landscapes. This route is perfect for days with north or northwest wind, ensuring protected waters and a quiet anchorage.

2. DAYS: Illetes, Portals Nous, El Toro Nature Reserve & Camp de Mar (Ideal with south or south-westerly winds, avoiding the north swell)

Day 1:
We depart from Palma, sailing west and passing by the Marivent Palace. Our first stop is in Illetes, a cove with turquoise waters ideal for a first swim and some snorkeling. Then, we continue to Portals Nous, where we can anchor for lunch and relax in its protected waters. In the afternoon, we head towards the Natural Reserve of El Toro, where we can anchor in a quiet area and explore the underwater area by diving or snorkeling. Afterwards, we continue to Camp de Mar, a beach with a small islet and a restaurant accessible by a wooden bridge. Here we will spend the night at anchor, enjoying a quiet atmosphere.

Day 2:

After a breakfast on board, we can explore the area further, taking advantage of the calm waters for more snorkeling or relaxing before setting off on our return to Palma. On the way back, we may make an intermediate stop, depending on sea and wind conditions.

3. DAYS: Palma, Calvià, Portals Vells, Sóller & Toro Reserve (Ideal for north or north-westerly winds, to avoid the south swell)

Day 1: Palma – Calvià

We depart from Palma in the direction of Calvià, a picturesque coastal town with coves with calm waters. We anchor near the coast and spend the morning enjoying the scenery. If the wind permits, we can take a short kayak or paddle surfing tour.

At noon, we go to the restaurant “Restaurante Calvià Beach”, which offers a transfer service from the boat to enjoy a meal on its terrace overlooking the sea. In the afternoon, we set sail for a nearby cove, where we spend the night at anchor in calm waters.

Day 2: Calvià – Portals Vells

After breakfast on board, we sail to Portals Vells, one of the most beautiful and protected coves in Mallorca, ideal for a swim in turquoise waters. We anchor in a quiet area and enjoy a relaxing day, snorkeling or just enjoying the scenery.

For lunch, we can opt for the restaurant “Portals Vells Beach Club”, which offers transfer service from the boat, allowing everyone to enjoy a delicious lunch on the beach. After lunch, we have free time to explore more of the area or simply relax in the crystal clear waters.

Day 3: Portals Vells – Sóller – Reserva del Toro – Palma

On the last day, we set sail for Sóller, a more distant destination and perfect for a relaxing end of the route. We sail along the coast, enjoying the breathtaking views of the mountainous landscape and the sea. Arriving in Sóller, we anchor near the port of Sóller and explore the picturesque town.

For lunch, we enjoy the local cuisine at the restaurant “Restaurante Es Canyaret”, which offers transfer service from the port to the restaurant. After lunch, we sail to the Toro Reserve, where we can anchor near the protected waters and stop for a snorkeling stop. This is an ideal place to snorkel and enjoy the marine life in one of the most preserved areas of the island.

Finally, we set sail to return to Palma, making a last stop at a quiet cove on the way if conditions permit.

I already knew Mallorca, but not Menorca or Formentera and I think that traveling in another way I would never have been able to experience them in such a special way. We had a great time. Even though we had a skipper with us we dared to drive it :)
