The climate of Athens
The sun is the main feature of the Hellenic peninsula. Greece’s climate is one of the best in Europe with hot, sunny summers and mild winters.
Temperatures in Athens range from an average of 9°C in winter to 34°C during July and August in summer.
In terms of rainfall, the wettest months are November and December.
With little wind and a humidity level that is considered comfortable, the climate is undoubtedly one of the great attractions of sailing along the Hellenic coasts.
Gastronomy in Athens
Athens’ cuisine is influenced by its more than 4,000 years of history and its close relationship with countries such as Turkey, Italy, the Middle East and other Balkan countries.
With a Mediterranean base of vegetables and fresh local produce, Greek cuisine is flavoured with oriental spices in many of its recipes.
Starters, or mezze, are the king of the table: hot and cold dishes to be enjoyed like Spanish tapas.
Special mention should be made of tzatziki, the Greek sauce par excellence, and musakka, the Greek version of Italian lasagne in which the sheets of pastry are replaced by slices of aubergine.
It can also be eaten cheaply at any destination in Greece. For this, if you wish, you can rent a catamaran without skipper in Alimos or if you prefer and do not want to worry about the work of the boat, you can rent a catamaran with skipper in Alimos.

Sailing in Alimos
The peak sailing season with the most stable conditions is from June to September, which are ideal months for a catamaran sailing holiday with skipper in Alimos. But the months of April, May and October are also ideal months for sailing due to the lower number of tourists on the Greek coasts.

The Greek coastline, ideal for amateurs and experts alike
When we think of the Greek coast we think of white houses with blue domes, the typical sunset picture of Santorini.
But the Greek coast has much more to offer, as each island has its own unique character, but they all have a common denominator: warm sand underfoot, turquoise water and a characteristic mist that cannot be found anywhere else.
The Argosaronic area, located southwest of Athens, lies off the east coast of the Peloponnese. Here the islands are closer to each other and it is an ideal place for crossings when sailing around the Greek islands.
The prevailing wind is less strong than in other areas of the Aegean and because of its proximity and accessibility from Alimos, this area is chosen by families and less experienced sailors and relaxed sailors. You can opt for a catamaran charter in Alimos and sail the Argosaronic Gulf all year round as the season here lasts longer than anywhere else in Greece.
